Sex Test: The Jessica Rabbit

First impressions
First impressions? Not great. To be fair though, I think I had cultural issues with the rabbit from its Sex and the City days. All I had in my mind’s eye was Samantha squealing about this large, ugly freak show of a vibrator that had all the finesse of an American sitcom in the 90s. And what I saw when I finally got around to the Jessica Rabbit? Not much different.

What it is
Using all manner of rotating shafts with beads/pearls/balls that whirr and twist inside your vagina and external bunny ears that buzz at various speeds around your clit, rabbit vibrators are designed for simultaneous vaginal and clitoral stimulation.

The Jessica Rabbit, which touts itself as being ‘the world’s most popular vibrator’, is no different. In fact, this baby ups the ante by providing 36 combined functions between the rotating metal balls and shaft and the thwacking bunny ears.

How it works
The wiggling shaft and whizzing balls at its base work at stimulating not only the g-spot region but the entire vagina internally, while the bunny ears curve over the clitoris for ‘stimulation’ there. The ears and shaft can be switched on separately or simultaneously.

What i thought of it

The happy
Well, I love the idea of a rabbit; the dual action – and it is a LOT of action – is quite fabulous. I really love how the shaft and balls move internally and how this feels with the direct clit stimulation.

Because the bunny ears are so full-on, using just the lowest setting on the shaft, which produces a sort of gentle oscillation, is the easiest way to start playing with the this rabbit. I wasn’t really that interested when I started the test, but this baby pretty much sucker punches your vagina into being ‘in the mood’.

The vibes on the Jessica Rabbit are intense and I could only manage the first setting. Even then I had to soften the blows of the crazy ears by using my fingers as a sort of buffer. Saying that, if you’re into player harder around your clitoral area or need some pretty heavy artillery to wake your lady bits up, you won’t be sorry with the output.

Also, despite the rather large and unattractive control pad, the buttons are easy to locate and vibe settings easy to change mid-moment.

The not happy
For a start, a softer setting, a less head-on clitoral thwak-attack by the Jessica Rabbit’s bunny ears would be nice. Because the dual action is so great, it’s unfortunate when your clit gets so much stim it actually distracts.

And speaking of, this baby is LOUD. All the whirring, thwacking, buzzing, wizzing and, yes, moaning, makes this the least discreet vibe I’ve ever used. It takes a lot of power and this is, sadly, derived by batteries which also rattle in their little plastic case. (Which, no matter what they say, is not waterproof.)

This particular rabbit will probably not appeal to those looking for vibes that are pretty or feminine or discreet. Apart from the borderline-tack faux metal encasing, the black TV-remote-style control box and the metal balls, the packaging is lazy, there aren’t any lovely extras and the TPR is difficult to clean.

Should you run out and buy it now?
I think every toy box should a rabbit. But whether it’s the Jessica Rabbit is debatable. It’s not the most up-to-date this product can be and I’m not so wild about the material and battery case.

And there’s the issue of the missing softer, gentler bunny ear setting. But, honestly, if you like or need a lot of stim on your clit you’ll probably have a field day.
