I’m a cisgender, straight, grey-asexual woman. This means that I still identify with the gender I was assigned at birth and that I find men attractive, although I prioritise my emotional needs over sexual ones when involved with a man. Simple.
But what do you call yourself if you don’t identify with a certain gender identity or sexual orientation? What do you call someone who doesn’t identify as cisgender or straight without hurting them? How do you learn all these new terms that you’re unfamiliar with?
Well, it’s simple really – educate yourself. And not just during Pride Month, but throughout the year.
