Mother-in-law called out for trying to upstage the bride by showing up to the wedding in a stunning white gown

Is this the bride or her mother-in-law?
Is this the bride or her mother-in-law?

According to the wedding shaming community, this bride's mother-in-law might just be the most extreme of them all.

But what exactly did she do to be earn herself the "monster-in-law" title?

Well, this Metro UK article, details how she showed up to her son's wedding wearing a head-turning wedding gown that, might we add, was suspiciously similar to the cut of the bride's wedding gown - her new daughter-in-law.

Firstly, this mom-in-law completely ignored the unofficial number one rule of wedding etiquette: "Do not wear white."

Secondly, she took it up a notch by opting for a sweetheart neckline, figure-hugging mermaid gown that would sure grab everyone's attention.

One could easily have mistaken her for the actual bride, especially considering the fact that hundreds of members in the wedding shaming group post also observed that the real bride was upstaged by her mother-in-law.

The post which was originally posted on Facebook by a user known only as Abbie, was captioned, "This is my husband's aunt at her son's wedding, lady what the [expletive] are you doing?", garnered hundreds of comments from users who accused the mom-in-law of wanting to upstage the bride.

Here, the mother-in-law is seen posing with the bridesmaids at her son's wedding:

Some people even questioned whether or not this was not just another bride at the wedding venue, but the confusion was quickly straightened out after one Facebook user pointed out that she was not wearing a ring on her wedding finger, which would be strange for a new bride.

Another also highlighted that the actual bride was seen posing with the same bridesmaids that the "momzilla" was seen pictured with.

This is how social media reacted to Facebook user Abbie's aunt-in-law's stunt:

One person thought that this mother-in-law was probably just looking for attention.

What a pathetic attention seeker

While another commented on the fact that the mother-in-law's dress was actually "nicer" than the brides dress.

I think the worst part is that the upstaging MIL (mother in-law) has the nicer gown

It has been known for mothers-in-law to sometimes go out of their way to make the lives of their daughters-in-law hell, but do you think this particular one has gone too far?

And how would you feel if it happened to you?
