The 'WAP' hitmaker took to Instagram to announce that she’s fronting Spanish luxury fashion house Balenciaga's latest fall campaign. This campaign marks the first time the fashion house has used a celebrity in a major campaign since creative director, Demna Gvasalia, took over in 2015.
Shot and styled by Cardi’s team, the campaign consists of a series of photos of the rapper in her L.A home wearing a slinky black gown, laying on a playground. The rapper has previously worked with FashionNova releasing a number of lines with the brand, but this is her first high-fashion campaign since her music career took flight.
“Ya lookin at the face of a @Balenciaga campaign! I remember how I felt seeing myself on a billboard in NYC Times Square but PARIS! Wish I was there to see it in person!” The campaign is currently displayed on a billboard hung on the the exterior of The Musée du Louvre.
