  • The 20th annual BET Awards, which aired on 28 June 2020, were held virtually due to restrictions to slow the spread of Covid-19. 
  • The awards ceremony was hosted by Insecure actress and comedian Amanda Seales, who wore Black designers for all 13 outfit changes to perform her hosting duties.
  • Other A-listers in virtual attendance included Michelle Obama, Beyoncé, Lizzo, Naomi Campbell, Nomzamo Mbatha, and Tracee Ellis Ross, who all enjoyed pre-recorded performances by Chloe x Halle, Summer Walker, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Hudson and Megan Thee Stallion.
