As encouraged by thrift guru Symphony Clarke this simple yet effective shopping strategy will leave your wallet and broader environmental impact of fast fashion in a much more preferable position.

Symphony notes that a lot of her peers feel pressure to keep up with trends. Some even feel like they can't post a picture in the same outfit twice. "That's the lifespan of their clothing. Once a picture is taken, it's done," she says.

Sustain Your Style also suggests:

  • You buy less.
  • Consciously shop from sustainable brands.
  • Buy second-hand swap or rent clothing.

Even the greenest of garments use resources for production and transportation to your wardrobe, creating environmental impact. Perhaps proceed to check your efforts rather than proceed to checkout.
