- Kate Middleton is known to repeat outfits.
- Her fans love her lilac shift dress, while she seems to enjoy a double-breasted coat.
- This time, she has the internet talking about a Gucci blouse she repeated.
The Duchess of Cambridge has always been royally good at recycling an outfit. Whether it’s an elegant dress or a double-breasted coat, Kate is known to re-wear pieces she loves.
Insider reported this week that the Duchess had royal fans divided over whether she wore her $1300 (about R20 000) Gucci blouse backwards or not. She was reportedly first seen wearing this silk pussy-bow blouse the wrong way around at a royal engagement at the Henry Fawcett Children's Centre in Kennington in March 2019.

This year, Kate wore the blouse for an IGTV Q&A session. But the question is; did she wear it backwards the first time she was spotted in this blouse?
Well, the product image for the now sold out crepe blouse on Net-a-Porter reveals the buttons at the back - further confirmed by the model in this Gucci item.

The item description also details how "this style has a loose silhouette and features fabric-covered buttons that run down the back."
Well, according to Insider, the duchess did, in fact, wear the blouse backwards to give it a more formal look with the buttons running down the front.
However, the Mail Online's Bridie Pearson-Jones said the duchess "sported it the way Gucci intended" this time around.
The article also adds;
Writing about the first time the duchess wore the blouse backwards, she added: "The switch meant the seams on the shoulders and buttons on the cuffs didn't fall exactly as they should — and the bow was pulled round her neck and fastened looser and lower. Whether this was by accident or design wasn't clear – and Kensington Palace didn't comment at the time."
Here are some of her other repeats:
The red coat
Kate has been spotted twice at public events in this cherry red Catherine Walker coat. The first, at the Christmas Day service in 2018 and the second time was at the Commonwealth Day Services in 2020.

The lilac shift dress
This Emelia Wickstead dress seems to be a favourite. When she wore it at the Global Mental Health Gala in 2018, fans were quick to point out they'd seen Kate wear it before on a family visit to Hamburg.
The ball gown
Kate has no shortage of ball gowns but she's not afraid to rework her evening looks. She wore this Jenny Packam gown in New York and in London in the same year.
The green coat
Kate is a big fan of double-breasted, belted coats and this green number ticks all those boxes. She wore this jacket to celebrate St Patrick's Day in 2014 and at an official visit to Canada in 2016.
The grey coat dress
She wore this Michael Kors coat dress in 2014 and again as her family finished the royal tour in Australia. This coat also made an appearance at the opening of Hampton Court's Magic Garden.
The pink floral dress
During lockdown she still makes the most of her wardrobe, she rewore this printed LK Bennet dress she previously wore at a polo match and to join care home workers in Wales for a virtual game of bingo.
