9 shows that should be on SA television

accreditation

These days there’s just a lot of shit on TV. Most of us would rather risk being locked up for piracy than watch television.

Gone are the days of waking up early to watch cartoons with your sibling, watching 50/50 with your dad and waiting for Mnet’s open time.

Now we just wait for the next episode of Game of Thrones to appear on Piratebay.

It’s a tragedy! I decided to solve this by making a list of shows I’d like to see on television.

The Bitching Hour

A late night show where a bunch of people get together and just talk about everything that they hate, from toe cleavage to no makeup selfies.

Poolice

A reality show that follows the office gossip on her journey to discovering who the person was that caused a stench in the bathroom.

Food Lovers' Market
A reality show where people have to choose partners based on how common their dietary interests are. Potatoes and chicken nuggets? MARRY ME.

Survivor: Politicians' Edition
(This was the brilliant Marnus‘ idea.)
Elections where we vote politicians out of the country. Or anyone who annoys us. (We’re looking at you, Steve Hofmeyr).

Come pine with me

A talk show focused on girls who are currently pining over crushes. You’re only allowed to come on the show if you’ve stalked all his profile pics and all the girls in them.

Crème de la kak
A panel show (similar to 8 Out of Ten Cats) where guests discuss the biggest douchebags in our country. Everyone from JZ to Sunette Bridges.

Van Gogga
A documentary about all the grossest bugs in South Africa. From Parktown prawns to Koringkrieke.

South African Horror Story
Our country has some of the richest folklore. This show will focus on all the legends in SA, from Van Hunks and the Devil, to The Hex of Hex Valley.

Twattoos

A documentary on the most ridiculous and distasteful tattoos.
