This year has had it's fair share of ups and downs, but it's also been a horrible year for love and romance. So many famous couples have broken up and destroyed our faith in love and happily ever after. 

Here we take a look at the couples who broke our hearts and proved that love is dead in 2017:

Zwai and Melanie Bala

The couple released a joint statement on Twitter saying that they had separated in October. They were married in 2008 and have two children together.

Unathi and Thomas Msengana

The Idols judge and her radio broadcaster husband are separated but not divorced. They got married in 2009 and have two children.

Chris Pratt and Anna Faris

The couple announced their split in August after 8 years together. They have one son.

Josh Duhamel and Fergie

The actor and the singer got married in 2009 and had their son, Axl, in 2013. They announced in September that they were separated and actually had been for quite a while.

Robert confirmed their split with a tweet back in August.

The pair announced on their separate Instagram accounts that they had split up back in September.

Selena Gomez and The Weeknd

Selena and The Weeknd broke up after 10 months of dating. Not too long afterwards Selena was spotted hanging out with Justin Bieber again.

Tyga and Kylie Jenner

Kylie said on her reality show, Life Of Kylie, that it was an amicable break up and she decided that she was "too young". Now Kylie is rumoured to be pregnant with Travis Scott's baby.

They separated in April, but have yet to announce their divorce. The couple married in 2010 and have a son together.
