As the years go by, relationships are getting more and more complicated. People are creating dating rules and policies that only seem to be convenient to them, forgetting that although you might be an individual, relationships are about two people whose needs must be met by their partner.

It goes without saying that because of the reasons above and more, the level of uncertainty keeps rising and actress, Keke Palmer says she is not buying into the girlfriend and boyfriend title anymore.

The 27-year-old took to TikTok to participate in the trend where people say things that are not acceptable and then respond with a question that confronts the unacceptability of what’s being said. She starts the video by saying, “Dudes be like, ‘I want you to be my girlfriend’” and after she says that, a dramatic sound comes on to which she continues to say, “But are you going to marry me? Are we ready to take it somewhere out of kid world? Because I’m not trying to be locked into nothin’ unless you’re going to lock me in for life.”

The star ends the video by suggesting friendship instead of dating, “Because we can just be friends and kick it til’ you’re ready to go.” Keke also shared the TikTok video as part of her Instagram reels, captioning it: “I don’t believe in girlfriend and boyfriend. I’m single till I’m married. Let’s just kick it, love.”

Her followers wasted no time flooding her comment section, with some being supportive of her opinion. With one follower saying, “Yessss, either we are friends, or we are FAMILY,” and another adding, “Yessss baby, I’m too old to be classified a girl anything. I’m either your wife or just a friend. I refuse to be anyone’s obituary as a ‘special friend.’”
