A Los Angeles County Court judge told 39-year-old singer, Kelly Clarkson, to pay a whopping sum of R2,8 million to her former spouse, Brandon Blackstock, each month, following their split last year to cover his spousal support payment as well as child support for their two children.
According to legal documents obtained by The Blast, Kelly’s monthly income has been valued at an astounding $1 583 617 (R23 million), which formed the basis of the judge’s decision regarding payments to Bradon.
The ‘Kelly Clarkson Show’ host is required to pay Brandon $150 000 (R2 189 000 per month in spousal support and a further $45 601 (R665 000) in child support - Kelly is ordered to pay her ex-husband $195 601 (R2 854 000) a month in support.
A source previously told PEOPLE that Blackstock had been aiming for more than double that amount, requesting that Clarkson pay him $436,000 (R6,4 million) per month.
Legal documents also reveal Brandon has decided to leave his career as a manager in entertainment and is deciding to pursue work as a rancher.
