Often written off as unnecessary cosmetic surgery, breast reduction surgery can transform some women’s lives, helping them to be more comfortable in their own skin and bodies.

The following ten stars have opened up about their reduction surgeries and are so much happier with their new shape

Amber Rose

In 2018, Amber Rose underwent a three-hour procedure to reduce her chest from a 36H to a 36DDD. Amber decided to go ahead with the operation because it felt like she was walking around with a “heavy backpack” on her chest. She said: “I was scared that I wouldn’t feel sexy anymore, but it got to the point where I literally was in pain. It was almost as if I had like a heavy backpack on my chest.”

Speaking about the operation; she told PEOPLE: “I didn’t want to get it. But I had lost 25 pounds, and my breasts didn’t go anywhere! I was still carrying that load. I didn’t quite want them to be this small.”

Drew Barrymore had breast reduction surgery in 1992. Six years later and having fallen in love with her figure, she told New York Daily News about the strange relationship women have with their bust. She said: “I really love my body and the way it is right now. There’s something very awkward about women and their breasts because men look at them so much. When they’re huge, you become very self-conscious. Your back hurts. You find that whatever you wear, you look heavy in. It’s uncomfortable.”
