Demi Lovato has had many major body issues in the past, and also suffered from eating disorders, and self-harm, but has decided to take her body back, and show other women that you can overcome those issues.

According to Vanity Fair, Demi was inspired to do the shoot the day after the death of her great grandfather, who was very important to her.

It was a spur of the moment decision made by the singer and it certainly paid off.

Demi says that she never thought she would get to a place in her life where she would feel comfortable enough doing a photoshoot sans clothes, make up, or retouching.

In the video below, Demi also says, when she thinks of Confident (her 5th studio album that is set to be released on 16 October), she thinks “of many things, but one of them in particular is feeling comfortable in your own skin.”

But I have to say, I’m really glad she did.

While I don’t look half as good naked as Demi does, I’ve had many similar issues with my body. I applaud her for being brave enough to be really, truly naked in front of the camera in a way that many stars never are.

These images really are beautiful and shows that Demi has come a long way since her Disney days. If anything, these images definitely say we should be watching out for Demi.
