“I mean, I never thought I was that sexy. When I did Basic Instinct, I explored my dark side and made friends with my dark side. I got to not be afraid of my own self. I think people find that sexy,” she says speaking to Town and Country magazine.

The 62-year-old actress admits she finds it difficult to rid herself of her sex symbol status because everyone expects it from her. “It’s difficult, because everybody expects you to be that all the time. It was very difficult for Marilyn Monroe. She did movies that really matter like, ‘Bus Stop', ‘The Misfits’, but she still couldn’t get completely out being that thing. It’s very hard to shake,” she adds.

Previously the actress admitted there was a time a couple of decades ago where she didn’t accept her body, but now that she is older, she feels much more content with her figure.

“There was a point in my forties when I went into the bathroom with a bottle of wine, locked the door, and said, ‘I won’t get out until I full accept my body,” she had said, speaking German edition of Vogue Magazine.
