Let's talk about female lubricants

A man might feel that he is not performing well if a woman does not get wet before or during intercourse. Some women are averse to lubricants in fear of offending their partners.

Vaginal dryness is common, particularly among older women. It can be caused by factors such as stress, anxiety and your menstrual cycle. The key is to help your man understand what it is you need to reach arousal. Some women get wet easily, while others need extra lubrication.

Communication is critical and hopefully your partner is mature enough to listen to your needs and help you make the experience pleasurable for both of you. Foreplay is important for getting you in the mood and your partner should not rush through this to get to intercourse.

If that is still not enough, there are a variety of lubricants on the market. The benefits of using them include avoiding injury and enhancing the sensation of intercourse. Some even have heating properties. They can also make oral sex more enjoyable if you do not like your partner’s natural scent.

Lubricants are necessary for anal sex. The anus does not self-lubricate like the vagina does and lubricants ease penetration by avoiding tearing and bleeding.

Water-based lubricants resemble the natural vaginal lubricant and can be used with anything. However, they dry out and need to be reapplied. Silicone-based lubricants last much longer, but should not be used with other silicone products such as condoms and toys as they damage them.
