For the enormous cake, the Queen turned to Mr Fredrick Schur, chief confectioner at McVitie and Price Ltd.
The four-tier cake stood 9 feet tall (2.74 meters) and weighed an incredible 226kg.
According to House and Garden UK, the intricately decorated cake had one tier depicting armorial bearings and two depicting scenes from Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip's lives.

The 10 000 mile cake
The Queen's wedding took place just two years after the second world war ended. Food rationing was still in place in the UK, which made finding ingredients for the hefty fruitcake all the more difficult.
House and Garden write that ingredients for the fruitcake were donated to the UK from South Africa and Australia, earning the cake the nickname "the 10 000 mile cake".
Every girl in the Australian Girl Guides Association had also contributed to the cake. To thank them for their donations, the royal newlyweds sent the association a tier of the cake.
The massive cake produced 2 000 slices for wedding guests, and hundreds more were sent to various charities and organisations along with hand-written notes.
The Queen also reportedly personally drafted a note to McVitie and Price to thank them for bringing the incredible creation to life.
Recreating the Queen's wedding cake
A team composed of Le Cordon Bleu London's Master Chefs and pastry diploma students recently recreated the Queen's wedding cake for an ITV documentary.
The project apparently used 27kgs of butter, 34kgs of flour, 660 eggs, 80 oranges and lemons, 136kgs of dried fruit and nuts, 68kgs of marzipan, 49kgs of icing sugar, and 13 litres of Navy rum.
