This type of comedy relies on the characters making already tricky situations so much worse. For effect, of course. And while this might work in film, it really sucks in real life. I swear, sometimes it’s like there’s an alien force in control of my body. I can hear myself saying things even as my mind is shouting at me to keep quiet. Which is why I’ve come up with 3 things to say in 3 different awkward situations that will hopefully diffuse them:
