To achieve this look, start with prewashed, damp hair. Then, working in small sections, gently wrap your hair around a straw.
Using a bobby pin, clasp both ends of the straw together to secure the curls.
For the most natural look, create the curls in different directions and alternate wrapping your hair towards and away from your face.

Let your hair set anywhere from two to 24 hours then release the straws and unveil the curls.

If you'd like to take recycling further but don't mind some heat to curl your hair - a plastic water bottle can have its life extended with this method. This quick hair hack will give you the perfect soft waves in seconds.
All you need to complete the look is a plastic water bottle and a blow-dryer. With a pair of scissors, remove the top of the bottle to form an open-faced cylinder. Cut a slight opening in the cylinder to fit the head of your blow dryer.
Twist a small section of your hair around your finger and drop it in the bottle the turn your dryer on and watch your hair spin.
After a few seconds release your hair to reveal a perfect curl. The technique works best on blow-dried and straight hair.
