My friend asked me to trim her hair waist length once, which I happily agreed to - after all, I usually trim my own hair perfectly. So I trimmed it, stepped back, took a look... and it was crooked, longer on the right than the left. We decided it was no big deal, let’s trim it a bit more to even it out.
Then the left ended up longer than the right side. Anyway this went on for bit and when we decided to stop trying to fix it, her lovely long waist length hair was now just above her shoulder.
It was still crooked.
And she never asked me to trim her hair again. - Nikhat
I don't know if this qualifies as a beauty blunder, but it flashed through my mind instantly!
In the late 1950s (Rock & Roll era) we were invited to a Beatnik party. My boyfriend and I decided that it would be fun to dye his hair as well, seeing that mine was full of blue streaks, thanks to ink, so we dyed his hair black (he had light brown hair).
Well, he looked very nice and a good time was had by all, until he went to school on Monday morning (Standard 9). He was promptly thrown out of school and told not to come back until it had grown out or was back to his natural colour.
His very furious mother had to take him to the hairdresser to dye his hair brown and we had to pay for it with our pocket money. We still laugh about the incident, 57 years later. - Lael
