Goodbye Instagram makeup - creased cut eye-shadow, catty cat eyes and over the top eye makeup looks and hello one bold daring and did I mention easy peasy eyeshadow trend.

Whoop whoop!

For a while now I've gawked over thousands of IG babes who've had their eyeshadow done to the tees and I've tirelessly spent hours trying to mix and match different colours of eyery shade of eyeshadow on my over-touched and slightly sore from all of it eyelids, just to be left with a big mess that I ended up washing off in disappointment.

So much for effort. And not too mention how much it all cost. Insert 'rolls eyes' and 'crying face' emojis here.

And finally, thanks to Solange who first rocked lax eyeshadow on the Michael Kors runway in 2016 and the new easy does it make up trend, I can give up on my endless pursuit to that, looks easy in makeup tutorial videos but is actually as hard as fudge to do in reality, and embrace the beauty of lax eyeshadow.

How it works is, dab a bit of your fave shade of eyeshadow on your eyelid.

Either all over or in a straight line and voila, no blending, calculating or crying over the fact that you're simply unable to master the tricky game of eyeshadow perfectionism.

Plus, you don't have to go shopping for any new colours - just use what you already have. Win win.

Here are a few of our fave lax eyeshadow looks.
