Maria Cecilia Osorio and Alfonso Ardila, a Colombian couple, met and married wearing masks at a homeless shelter after finding themselves without jobs or money during the nationwide shutdown.

When it came to planning the wedding, they had help from the other residents of the shelter who assisted by clearing out mud, decorating the shelter with ribbons, and setting up an altar.
"I came to this place where no one looked at me or greeted me. But here I found someone who loved me and [is] worried about me," says Alfonso.
The couple spent the wedding night in self-isolation.

The newlyweds are committed Christians and have found strength in their faith during this difficult time. Despite the uncertainty they live under, once the crisis passes the couple hopes to enjoy another wedding tradition — the honeymoon.
"Because we'll leave here without jobs we don't know what will happen in terms of finding shelter. I had nowhere to stay before," the groom shares.
However, they are looking forward to 11 May, when the country's state of emergency is set to end.
