MAKE IT PERSONAL
Take some time to reflect on what you love most about your fiancé. Think about
the moments in your relationship that made you realise you wanted to spend the rest of your lives together. Write it all down to help rev up your creative gears before writing your vows.
When it comes to the promises (which are the most important part), be specific to the two of you, like, 'I promise to love you at all times - even during the rugby season.'

DRAW INSPIRATION
Quoting your favourite movie and song lyrics is a great way to inject your personality without having to write your vows from scratch. Plus, it's a great excuse to snuggle on the sofa and revisit your favourite movies for inspiration.
You can keep it short and sweet - 'You had me at hello' à la Jerry Maguire - or go full Adam Sandler in The Wedding Singer, “I'll miss you, kiss you, give you my coat when you are cold. Need you, feed you, even let you hold the remote control.'
ADD SOME HUMOUR
Writing funny wedding vows is a light-hearted way to declare your love for your spouse while also keeping the overall mood fun. It'll also give your guests something to talk about for a long time to come - bonus! Make sure you keep the humour true to your personalities.
So, if you're a shopaholic, play on that, e.g. 'I promise to love you as much as I love my credit card. I will love you for richer or poorer, as long as our credit limit stays high.' You could also write your vows as a funny top 10 list of why your marriage will work. For example, Reason 10: I know you'll never leave your dirty clothes on the floor.'

WRITE VOWS FOR YOUR PARTNER.
Writing your fiancé's vows may sound like an odd idea, but the result can be the perfect combination of funny and heartfelt. Of course, your fiancé has to agree to penning yours. The best results come from passing the vows to each other at the altar, but you can also read them beforehand with each other. Write down what makes him the perfect partner and turn it into a promise.
For example: 'I promise always to offer you my shoulder to cry on after a stressful day at work.' Remember to have some fun with it, e.g. I vow to always take out the rubbish, even in the pouring rain or freezing cold.'
RHYME TIME
Turning your vows into a rhyming poem isn't always the easiest thing to do, but if you can find the perfect words to express your feelings, it's a worthy challenge.
For example, 'I love you in richness and in debt and cherish all moments since we have met. I promise to love you until the end of my days, even though you've turned our cupboard into a maze.' Side note: Keep a thesaurus nearby. Now, go forth and write those vows.
