According to a recent Zelle survey, 84% of newly weds say they prefer money as a wedding gift over other gifts. Sound like you, but you don’t know how to get the point across to guests?

Here’s how to do it:

Step 1: Don't include gift registry in invitation

Avoid including any registry information or gift requests on your save-the-date or your actual wedding invitation. It can make this feel like they only scored an invite for the gift. Instead, include the requests on your wedding website and spread the word through family and friends. Along with the request, explain what you will use the cash for, whether it’s for your honeymoon or house, it’s a way to make it more personal versus them just handing over a cheque.

Step 2: Create a cash registry

Cash registry are another great way to get what you want. Popular ones includes, ‘honey fund and my registry’ where people can put in money towards a specific activities on your honeymoon, home renovations and more.

Step 3: Set up a traditional registry

Some may really want to give a physical gift so give them the option. Take the guesswork out for them by creating a registry of stuff you actually want.
