5 surprising ways to take care of your clothes

 1. How to remove fur or fluff from clothing

Yip, I am an expert at this one. Before you go out and try every gadget there is, simply use wide packing tape. Wrap it around your hand twice so you have a big piece to work with and pat your clothing till you are fur free.

2. How to keep your stockings ladder free for longer

Spray your brand new pair of stockings with hairspray. This will make them less prone to getting ladders. If you do get a ladder in them, apply clear nail polish around the edge of the ladder to keep it from widening.

3. How to fix scuffmarks on your shoes

I love using a good quality leather cream (you can get it from selected shoe stores). It works like a charm to remove scuffmarks and it will clean your shoes, handbags and leather clothing. Apply the cream to the scuff, rub it in with a cloth and watch it disappear. It also works on shoes made of other materials. If you don’t have any leather cream handy, use petroleum jelly instead.

4.  How to remove bobbles from your knits

Use an old shaving razor. Lay your knit item flat and shave off the little bobbles till it looks brand new.

5.  Taking care of suede

Spilled coffee on your favourite suede shoes or skirt? Whatever you do, never, ever, ever use water to clean the stain. Stylecaster.com says to pat the area dry and to apply corn meal or talcum powder to the stain. Leave overnight and use a brush to remove the powder the following day.
