Recent reports on the fashion industry have revealed that the supply chain is responsible for at least 10% of global carbon dioxide emissions, while also using around 1.5 trillion litres of water annually.
People living in close proximity to fashion production factories have complained about rising water and land pollution, chemical waste and the overexploitation of raw materials posing not only environmental risks but health risks for those involved in the industry. It is now our responsibility as conscious consumers to call on the fashion industry to renounce their reliance on mass production.
