Who What Wear recently reported that Pinterest’s August 2018 Global Fashion Report stated that block heels were pinned more than any other shoe over the course of this year and that the shoe's popularity grew with a whopping 333%. Way more popular than stilettos or kitten heels, Pinterest notes that chunky heels seem to be fan favourites.

I must concur, they are the best.

This certainly also rings true on Instagram, as there are 63 797 posts under #blockheels, with a trailing 49 585 posts under #kittenheels.

I'm really surprised it's not sneakers at the top, or 'ugly shoes', as they've enjoyed a lot of time in the limelight this past year. The 'sneakers' hashtag on Instagram boasts 24 902 545 posts strong, while #uglyshoes come in at 24 240 posts.

But which shoes do our favourite celebrities prefer? We did a bit of digging...

Nomzamo Mbatha

She loves wearing PUMA with athleisure, but always opts for a T-bar heel when out and about slaying on red carpets and such.

Kendall Jenner

Statement shoes. Whether flamed or sequinned, she is always doing the most.

She loves a heel at an event but prefers classic Birkenstocks when she's enjoying some down time.
