In an emotional announcement made on Twitter, Mercedes driver Valtteri Bottas announced the news that he and his wife Emilia will be ending their marriage.
According to news.co.au, the couple tied the knot at St. John’s Church in Helsinki, Finland in September 2016 after they started dating six years prior in 2010.
The soft-spoken Bottas is a man of few words but took to social media, breaking the news to his 550 000+ Twitter followers.
This is the second split in Formula 1 in recent months as Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc announced recently that he was splitting with his girlfriend, Italian model Giada Gianni, who he had been dating since 2015.
The Finn currently sits second in the Formula 1 driver rankings behind team mate and already-crowned champion Lewis Hamilton, as they head into the last race of the season in Abu Dhabi.
