Valtteri Bottas turned his attention to 2020 on Sunday after winning the United States Grand Prix and celebrating Mercedes team mate Lewis Hamilton's sixth title triumph.

The Finn, who won on American soil for the first time and for the fourth time this year, said he was satisfied to win the race, but disappointed to lose out in the championship.

'I look forward to next year'

"It's been very good in the second half of the year and, since the summer, I've been gaining some good momentum in the car," he said.

"We still have a couple of races to get a couple of wins. I've lost the championship, but I look forward to next year.

"I'm definitely going the right way, improving and getting quicker, so I can't wait for next year."

"It was an interesting race. It went pretty quickly and I was always trying to do a lap time, or gain an advantage, and in the end it turned out well," the Finn added.
