• Lategan and navigator Brett Cummings rolled their Hilux and the former was airlifted to Riyadh after sustaining a fractured collar bone.
There were highs and lows for the South African-based Toyota Gazoo Racing team as they celebrated another stage win but also heartbreak as Henk Lategan and Brett Cummings' race came to an end.
Lategan rolled the Hilux early on in the stage and suffered a fractured collar bone and was airlifted to Riyadh. Cummings did not sustain any injuries.
Giniel de Villiers picked up his first stage win of the race in a grueling effort that saw Stephane Peterhansel hang onto the overall lead.
