With the new Le Mans 66 Ford vs Ferrari film set to be a cult classic, Chipex have taken a look at which countries love the brands the most.
Their new data reveals which countries are more inclined to search for Fords vs Ferraris and indicates which countries love the luxury car brand compared to countries who look up the more practical and affordable Ford.
Which brands generates more interest?
If the search results revealed by touch up paint experts Chipex are anything to go by, Ford is a much more frequently searched brand worldwide, with over 3-million more searches than Ferrari.
Who searches Ford vs Ferrari most per capita?
When it comes to searching Ford vs Ferrari per capita, Belgium tops the charts for Ford. The Belgians are closely followed by fellow European countries Slovakia and Turkey for Ford searches.
Ferrari, on the other hand, is most popular in Denmark, with the most searches per capita. They are closely followed by Sweden, Switzerland and Luxembourg for the most searches per capita.
Who searches Ford vs Ferrari the most?
• The USA searches both companies more than anyone else
The USA are the top searchers of both brands. The USA is the birthplace of the Ford Motor Company, which explains its popularity in searches at 1 200 000.
• India & Brazil Like Ferrari, UK & France favour Ford
After the US, the countries that are most likely to search for ‘Ferrari’ are India and Brazil, with both having an average of 135 000 searches.
• The UK sees more searches for Ford
In countries like Turkey, the UK and France the balance is much more Ford heavy, with plenty of searches for Ford and around half the amount for Ferrari. The UK sees 201 000 searches for Ford compared to 90 500 for Ferrari.
• Europe Searches Ford More Frequently
European countries are more likely to search for Ford than Ferrari, with countries like Austria, Denmark, Hungary, Portugal and Belgium all seeing far more searches for Ford than Ferrari.
• Asia searches Ferrari more frequently
Many countries in Asia tend to search for Ferrari over Ford. Countries like Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore seeing more searches for the Ferrari brand.
Shelby South Africa invited local media, owners of the Shelby products and fans of the brand to watch an exclusive screening of the film.
There was some eye candy on display in the form of two GT40 MKII and a Cobra MKIII.
