Ferrari announced that it will resume production on April 14, 2020.

The famed Italian automaker ceased production on all vehicles following hiccups in its supply chain. This as the dreaded coronavirus swept over Italy and forced every sphere of the country to come to a standstill.

It is not just Italy that's buckling under Covid-19. Globally, the epidemic brought economies to their knees and forced many countries to go under lockdown, including South Africa.

Smart working conditions

But, says Ferrari, it will continue to work in a smart way as its done for the last few weeks since halting production.

In an official announcement, the automaker said: "Given the huge uncertainty and lack of predictability that the Covid-19 has created, the Company is taking all appropriate actions to assure the well-being and welfare of its employees and that are deemed to be in the best interest of all stakeholders."

"The Company anticipates that it will be in a position to provide further financial guidance to the investment community during its first quarter earnings’ call on May 4, 2020. It remains confident that in view of its brand equity, strong balance sheet and sound business model it will continue to create value for all stakeholders beyond the near term uncertainties."
