Cape Town has a vast fan base of Honda lovers whether it's a sporty S200, a Civic or Ballade, a CRX, or even the smaller, family orientated Jazz or Amaze, or perhaps you drive a Honda SUV or a motorcycle.

If you drive any type of Honda car or bike, there's a group of enthusiasts of the Japanese brand who will be gathering on Sunday in an attempt to break a new Guinness World Record, and they need you!

The Honda Record Hookup will take place at Grand West on Sunday, 22 September.

Event organiser and founder, Garth Hendrickse, from Brackenfell, says his main aim is to break the Guinness World Record that was set in Japan in 2010 with a total of 569 cars.

Hendrickse says they are targeting 600 cars and 100 bikes to participate on Sunday to break the record. His first Honda hookup attracted 100 cars, and he says it has grown ever since, but now he is back and applied for a Guinness record attempt.

Upon arrival, each Honda would need to pay R20 to receive a numerical sticker that needs to be placed on the windscreen so that it will be easier to count during the event, plus a R10 parking fee making it R30 in total for Honda car and bike owners. Any other guests joining with other vehicles will pay a parking fee of R10.

There will be 50 prizes to give away in lucky draws which will be held for all those who participate, no matter what you drive.
