Lewis Hamilton equaled Michael Schumacher's win record of 91 grand prix with victory in the Eifel grand prix at the Nurburgring in Germany on Sunday.
In a moving gesture, Schumacher's son, Mick, presented Hamilton with his father Michael's helmet to celebrate the Mercedes driver's 91st race win in Formula 1.
The German holds the record for the most drivers' title with seven, Hamilton has six. Schumacher has been out of the public eye since he suffered head injuries from a 2013 skiing accident in Switzerland.

Hamilton capitalised on Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas' power unit woes to grab the win after the Finn had qualified on pole and led the opening 13 laps.
Red Bull's Max Verstappen was second with Daniel Ricciardo picking up his first podium for Renault.
"It’s incredible and very impressive. And I’m pretty sure there will be some more victories coming his way, and probably also championships," Verstappen.
But all eyes were on Mick and Lewis as the Formula 2 driver handed over his father's 2012 Mercedes helmet and offered the family's congratulations.
"I remember watching Michael as a kid, winning all those races and I was just dreaming of being there myself. It shows dreams really can come true. A big, big thank you to Mick Schumacher, this was truly a surreal moment. One that i’ll remember forever," the six-time champion said on Twitter.
