Three races into the 2021 Formula 1 season, the big question is whether Lewis Hamilton will a record an eighth driver's championship. Or, will this year be Max Verstappen and Red Bull's year to end the dominance enjoyed by Hamilton and his Mercedes team?
These are bold questions to ask, but it can't be denied that Red Bull Racing is as close to Mercedes as it has ever been. Verstappen has been the driver closest to Hamilton in terms of performance, and the only driver other than Hamilton to have won a race so far in 2021. Though the lack of challengers to Mercedes is as clear as day, Verstappen and Red Bull's resurgence is as refreshing as they come.
In Portugal, however, Hamilton and Mercedes dealt another blow to Verstappen and Red Bull's championship ambitions by taking the win. Which reiterates the question: Can their dominance be stopped?
