The Mercedes Formula One team departed last weekend's Bahrain as shocked winners. Outqualified and very nearly outraced, they have embarked on unlocking missing performance in the quest to reassert themselves against the clearly faster Red Bull.

Yet amidst the new climate of 2021's technical and financial restrictions, that may prove far trickier than in years prior.
