The 2021 United States Grand Prix takes place this Sunday, 24 October, with the action already taking place since Friday. Several drivers opted for new helmet designs for this race as they headed to the Lone Star State: Texas.

Drivers like Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes), Daniel Ricciardo (McLaren-Mercedes), and Mick Schumacher (Haas) all came to the race with helmet designs that celebrate the American culture. Oh, did you know that Schumacher's family has a ranch in Texas?

A few years ago, drivers had different helmet designs for every race. But with cost cuts being implemented across the sport, it was decided that one helmet design had to be in place for the duration of a season. These days, thankfully, that rule has been scrapped and are drivers enjoying more freedom when it comes to their lids.
