Volkswagen Group brands Audi and Porsche will reportedly decide soon whether to enter Formula 1 via a supervisory council meeting at the end of February 2022. Then, once the final decision is made, it will be made public at a later date.

According to German newspaper F.A.Z, VW's supervisory board will decide whether both Audi and Porsche will join F1 or it may be just one of the two brands. A spokesperson for Porsche told Reuters that the decision was still being evaluated. Another publication has linked Audi to McLaren and Porsche to Red Bull in 2026 via rumours circulating in the media.

There have been further suggestions that the VW Group could even get Audi to partner up with Williams while Porsche would latch on to AlphaTauri or even Haas.

Being rumours, there is no guarantee that any of these potential scenarios will be happening, but 'where there's smoke, there's also fire', which is a clear indication that another engine brand will be entering F1 at some stage fairly soon.
