• Aspar Moto3 rider Stefano Nepa narrowly missed being seriously injured by a fellow racer.

• The incident took place during the practice session for the French grand prix.

• Nepa was taken to a medical centre where he declared fit.

Moto3 racer Carlos Tatay avoided riding over fellow competitor Stefano Nepa during the practice session for the French grand prix as wet conditions caused havoc on track.

The incident was one of several accidents as rider dealt with wet conditions at the Bugatti circuit in Le Mans, Pays de la Loire, France.

The most dramatic crash on Friday saw Nepa suffer a massive highside while closely followed by Spaniard Tatay. The 18-year-old Italian  lost control of his bike and Tatay braked hard and long enough to not ride over his competitor.

The incident looked like something out of a Bond movie as Nepa came incredibly close to being injured by Tatay's bike. The organisers said Nepa was admitted to the medical centre and was given the all clear.

Filip Salac of the Czech-Republic was the fastest man in the lightweight Moto3 class during the Friday practice sessions.

Another shocking incident saw Moto2 championship leader Luca Marini get launched off his bike in free practice two at the fast downhill section at turn 5.

Marini was taken to the medical centre for further examination and has been declared fit.

In the premier class Jack Miller was the fastest rider in practice following Friday's crash-laden second session at Le Mans.

The Ducati-Pramac rider, Miller posted 1min34.356 seconds, shaving nine seconds off the time which gave Bradley Smith top spot in the morning's wet opening practice.
