To celebrate the upcoming 25th James Bond film, No Time To Die, Land Rover created a special Defender V8 Bond Edition.
The model is immediately distinctive with its gloss black paint as well as exclusive additions like a 007 puddle light, 22-inch gloss black wheels, 'Defender 007' rear badge, illuminated treadplates, and Xenon Blue front brake calipers.
Available to order as a Defender 110 or 90, each model also carries the SV Bespoke logo and an exclusive 'One of 300' etching. Local enthusiasts better be quick because only five special edition models have been allocated for the South African market. Pricing has not yet been confirmed.
Finbar McFall, Land Rover Brand Director, says: "The Land Rover Defender V8 Bond Edition is an exclusive take on the most powerful production Defender ever made, inspired by vehicles on-screen in No Time To Die. It represents a meeting of two great British brands and is a unique celebration of Land Rover's 38-year association with James Bond."
Licence to drive
Powering the English behemoth is the original Defender V8's supercharged 5.0-litre engine that produces 386kW and 625Nm of torque that sends power to the road via an eight-speed automatic transmission. Acceleration from 0-100km/h takes place in 5.2 seconds with a top speed of 240km/h.
The 007 version also benefits from suspension and transmission tuning, including bespoke spring and damper rates and a new Electronic Active rear differential.
The interior is crafted with laser etching detailing and an intuitive touchscreen animation on the Pivi Pro infotainment system.
For those wondering, No Time To Die will be released in South African cinemas from 1 October.
