Kia's Sonet ticks all the right boxes, but it's not without competition. I recently tested the Kia Sonet 1.0T EX+, which was launched a few months ago. Kia originally launched the Sonet in South Africa a year ago with naturally-aspirated engines only. Still, we all know that South Africans love a bit of boost, so the South Korean carmaker decided to bring some compact three-pots our way.

My test car, the range-topper, is priced at R389 900 as standard and blessed with 88kW and 172Nm driving the front wheels via a seven-speed double-clutch automatic transmission.
