2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA
2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA
Mercedes-Benz

 • The Mercedes-Benz GLA 200d has a frugal fuel consumption.
 • It has a torquey 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbodiesel engine.
 • The car's best features are optional, but it's a bit pricey.
 • For motoring news, go to News24/wheels.

When the GLA first surfaced, it showed Mercedes' intention to lure customers from the compact hatchback of the A-Class into the GLA crossover. It was the logical step. Marginally bigger and marginally higher off the ground.

Last year, the face-lifted range was released in South Africa. Currently, the line-up only includes two models, the GLA200 and the GLA200d. The former is priced at R749 040, and the latter is slightly more expensive at R784 560. Having spent a week with the turbodiesel variant, I want to suggest it is this model that potential buyers should consider.
