After teasing its brand-new model's initial images, Kia unveiled official photos of its new Sportage SUV ahead of global launch later this year.
For those wondering if it will be coming to South Africa, local availability has yet to be confirmed.
The SUV's prized asset is in its appearance, where an elongated Tiger Nose grille and detailed-orientated black grille graphic, complete with boomerang-shaped daytime running lights, serves as the frontal focal points.
Representing a first for the Sportage range is a black roof, a different colour paint option to the body which is also now available. At the rear is distinctive horizontally designed razor lights, while a lower graphic bumper casing uses is inspired by the same philosophy as the front grille.
The interior is also well-stocked, featuring a new panoramic curved display complete with a slim crush touchscreen pad that gives the driver and passenger connectivity and functionality. The three-dimensional air vents are also new additions.
The centre console is finished in high-end gloss and, in addition to the operating system, also houses storage sections like cupholders and various switches. Customers can choose between signature sage green or black seating, as well as bold quilting and black metal wood.
Due for global market launch later this year, more information on the all-new Sportage will be made available in due course.
Karim Habib, Senior Vice President and Head of Global Design Center, says: "Reinventing the Sportage gave our talented design teams a tremendous opportunity to do something new; to take inspiration from the recent brand relaunch and introduction of EV6 to inspire customers through modern and innovative SUV design. With the all-new Sportage, we didn't simply want to take one step forward but instead move on to a different level in the SUV class."
