Volkswagen has released pricing for its new Tiguan SUV that will hit dealerships across South Africa from July.
Pricing starts from R521 000, and customers can choose from three 1.4-litre TSI units producing 110kW and a more powerful 2.0-litre TSI derivative that makes 162kW. A 2.0-litre TDI 130kW 4Motion DSG R-Line will also be available from the fourth quarter.
It joins the T-Cross, T-Roc, Tiguan Allspace and the Touareg in VW's local T-SUV model range. The Taigo is also set to be introduced locally from next year.
Currently, in its third generation, the Tiguan launched locally for the first time in 2008 and has sold over six million units globally since its launch and over 41 000 units in SA.
The Tiguan was the best-selling medium SUV in the country in 2020, selling 4 280 units.
It comes standard with a three-year or 120 000km warranty, a five-year or 90 000km service plan, and a 12-year anti-corrosion warranty.
