Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Audi vehicles might be parked on every corner, and they certainly give off a certain impression, but the new Jaguar XE is a good mid-sized sedan that will surely turn heads.

For the 2020 model year the British automaker has given their entry-level model a fresh facelift, even though the changes look rather modest they help make the XE one of the more elegant mid-range vehicles.

Jaguar will provide two engine selections for you to choose from; the P250 and P300. Both engines are 4-cylinder turbocharged powerplants with the XE SE producing 184kw and the XE HSE producing 221kw of power.

Unfortunately no manual transmission will be offered. All models come as standard with an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission delivering precise and comfortable gear changes.

The interior that is built around you features a new centre console style that along with the new Jaguar SportShift selector will optimise the overall sporty feel.

Even though the XE is only Jaguar’s entry-level model the interior offers plenty of luxury and high-quality materials. Leather seats come as standard with electronic adjustment controls along with various driver aids that would otherwise cost extra on the XE’s rivals.

Replacing all physical buttons with the Dual-touchscreen setup unites the XE with her sisters in the modern age of infotainment technology.

Consumption and Emission:

P250: Combined consumption of 5.2l/100km

P250: Combined emission of 138g/km

P300: Combined consumption of 6.7l/100km

P300: Combined emission of 153g/km
