In January, Volkswagen South Africa will finally begin retailing its locally-built facelifted 2022 Polo hatchback, one of South Africa's best-selling cars. Sporting smart, new styling, a refreshed interior, incredible new features such as IQ.Light LED headlamps and a punchy GTI range-topper, the refreshed vehicle is expected to attract thousands of buyers each month.

If you're considering the Polo facelift as a replacement vehicle or your first new vehicle, here's what it might cost you per month if you buy one through Volkswagen Financial Services:
1. Volkswagen Polo (1.0 TSI 70kW)
The latest entry-level Polo TSI is priced at R311 800. If you finance it over 60 months with no balloon payment at an interest rate of 9 per cent, you can expect to pay around R6566.52 per month for it. At the end of the finance term, you will have paid a total of R393 991.25, including all admin fees, initiation fees and associated finance charges.

2. Volkswagen Polo (1.0 TSI 70kW - Life)
The mid-spec Polo TSI in Life configuration is priced at R350 000. If you finance it over 60 months with no balloon payment at an interest rate of 9 per cent, you can expect to pay around R7359.49 per month for it. At the end of the finance term, you will have paid a total of R441 569.40, including all admin fees, initiation fees and associated finance charges.
3. Volkswagen Polo (2.0 TSI 147kW - GTI)
The range-topping Polo GTI is priced at R489 400. If you finance it over 60 months with no balloon payment at an interest rate of 9 per cent, you can expect to pay around R10 253.20 per month for it. At the end of the finance terms, you will have spent a total of R615 192.29, including all admin fees, initiation fees and associated finance charges.
