Volvo achieved its tenth consecutive month of sales growth, selling a total of 62 724 cars, up from 31 760 cars compared to the same period last year.
The growth was mainly driven by strong demand in the United States and Europe, whereas China, the brand's biggest market, reported an April sales growth reaching 16 435 cars.
For the same month, the XC40 was the top-selling model with 19 833, followed by the XC60 with 17 925 and the XC90 with 9 371 cars.
Sales in the US increased by 185.5%, with 11 036 cars sold, while European sales grew to 25 816 cars for April, up by a healthy 178%.

Sales of its Recharge line-up of chargeable models, with a fully electric or plug-in hybrid powertrain, remained strong, representing 42% of the company's overall sales in Europe. Globally, Recharge cars accounted for 24.3% of the total sales volume.
