The Sonet will be available in two grades - LX and EX - with each grade available with either a manual or automatic gearbox. Powering the Sonet is a 1.5-litre petrol engine that offers 85kW and 144Nm. In terms of performance, the manual and automatic models will reach 100km/h from standstill in 11.3 and 11.8 seconds, respectively. The top speed for both gearbox options is 170km/h.

The Sonet might come across as rather compact, but it boasts a decent size (on paper). The SUV is 4120mm long, with a width and height of 1790mm and 1610mm. The Sonet's wheelbase is 2500mm.

Grade specification

The Sonet LX is comprehensively specified and comes with a raft of standard equipment. These include dual front airbags, all-round electric windows, automatic headlight activation, and a rear-view camera. An eight-inch infotainment system is also fitted. Users can connect to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wirelessly.

In addition to the LX, EX models add rear park distance control, 16-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, front fog lights, and a leather-covered steering wheel and gear lever.
