Land Rover will launch the 'ultimate' Range Rover Sport SVR in South Africa come early 2022. Called the Ultimate edition, the performance SUV features a selection of exclusive paint colour combinations and tailored interior design by the Jaguar Land Rover SV Bespoke team. The biggest highlight of the Ultimate edition is the new solid glass flake paintwork that's now available as an option for the first time.

Three hand-finished exterior paint choices are on offer. The new Maya Blue Gloss and Marl Grey Gloss colours are exclusive to the Ultimate edition and incorporate reflective fine white glass flake particles in the solid base coat to give the body an intense star-like sparkle. A third option is Ligurian Black Satin. Each colour features a Narvik Black contrast roof.

Land Rover says that a body-coloured carbon fibre vented bonnet, 22-inch five split-spoke forged alloy wheels and black brake calipers reinforce the Ultimate edition's strong presence, and that it complements the SVR's Narvik Black contrast roof, door mirror caps, front grilles and grille surrounds, front wing detail and tailgate finishers.

Still as powerful

The Range Rover Sport SVR is the fastest vehicle Land Rover has produced yet. The brawny SUV is powered by a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine that sends 423kW and 700Nm to all four wheels. 0-100km/h is cleared in 4.5 seconds, while top speed is rated at 283km/h. Pricing for the SVR Ultimate edition will be announced closer to the 2022 launch date.

Mark Turner, Commercial Director, Land Rover SV Bespoke, said: "Range Rover Sport SVR redefined Land Rover high-performance capability when it was introduced in 2014. We've sold more than 20 000 examples to date, and demand for the SVR's characterful mix of power, luxury and thrilling dynamics continues to grow every year. The SV Bespoke personalisation features of this Ultimate edition elevate its appeal even further."

Hannah Custance, Design Manager, SV Colour and Materials, said: "Our SV Bespoke design team is always pushing the boundaries to create stunning vehicle colours with enhanced individuality. This is the first SV Bespoke edition we've offered with beautifully textured and reflective glass flake paint finishes, which puts the Range Rover Sport SVR Ultimate edition at the forefront of our innovative approach to personalisation."
