Tequila is not the drink of choice for many people primarily because of how crappy you feel the following day after indulging .too much of it.
There are many brands to choose from - Olmeca, and El Jimador are some of the most famous names out there - although there is a 'rub your eyes to see if its true' brand, and you'll never guess which company makes it. Just when you think 2020 couldn't get stranger, although Prince Charles launching a pricey fashion line still tops this news by far.
An 'electric' drink
Tesla boss Elon Musk made good on his promise to sell 'Tesla Tequila' two years ago after teasing the plan in a tweet, as part of an April Fools joke. Just a couple of years later, and the prank is now a reality.

According to Tesla, the liquor boasts "a dry fruit and light vanilla nose with a balanced cinnamon pepper finish". It also comes with an appropriately Tesla-branded stand to hold the bottle upright.
Unfortunately for prospective buyers, each unit available was sold out within a few hours, with the bottle retailing for just under R4 000, and only sold in selected states within the United States.
Elon was found passed out against a Tesla Model 3, surrounded by "Teslaquilla" bottles, the tracks of dried tears still visible on his cheeks.

From a nutritional perspective, each bottle contains an alcohol volume of 40%, the same amount as, El Jimador and a tad bit more potent than Olmeca with 38% alcohol.

If you're still gawking at the hectic price tag, its worth noting that the world's most expensive liquor is Billionaire Vodka priced at $3.7-million, according to Wealthy Gorilla.
The thunderbolt design of the bottle makes sense seeing as though Musk's company produces all-electric vehicles.
Besides being the Tesla boss and now also a newcomer in the liquor game, Musk is known for his rockets to Mars, and Hyperloop tube travels technological endeavours.
