Economic Freedom Fighters in eThekwini are planning a march to Phoenix on Thursday to protest against “racist Indians”.

According to a poster posted on the EFF’s eThekwini official Twitter page, the march is in response to the killings in Phoenix that occurred during the unrest.

“We call for the immediate arrest of all those racist murderers and the confiscation of all illegal firearms in Phoenix.”

One EFF eThekwini councillor confirmed to The Witness that the march will be taking place.

On Tuesday, Police Minister Bheki Cele announced that 36 people in Phoenix died during the unrest.

Only three of the deceased were of Indian descent while the rest were black.
